 The Cockpit® Type 440 (G-8) is a classic flight jacket reminiscent of those worn by flyers during the golden age of aviation. The quality of this jacket is outstanding and its features include button closure cuffs, zippered sleeves, two button-flapped front cargo pockets with side-entry handwarmers, inside map pocket, inside wind flap, side adjustment straps, underarm gussets, smooth 100% acetate lining, heavy duty brass zipper, and diamond-shaped elbow reinforcement patches for greater durability and wear resistance. The leather is government-spec goatskin, making this the perfect flight, motorcycle, or general-wear jacket. Made in the USA.

This Excelled Vintage G-8 jacket is a true heavyweight! "Built like a tank" and "bulletproof" are perfect descriptions of the toughness & durability of this jacket's leather shell (although we don't recommend trying to stop an actual bullet with it!). It's constructed from thick, heavy vintage cowhide and features two front button-flapped cargo pockets with side-entry handwarmers, two interior "map" pockets, side adjustment straps, zippered sleeves with buttoned cuffs, large diamond-shaped elbow reinforcement patches, underarm gussets, antiqued brass zipper over storm flap, spec-type label, and a silky 100% acetate lining.
These jackets are from 1958, making them over 50 years old! We've acquired a very small handful of these jackets in very limited sizes; once these are gone, this jacket will no longer be available. The jacket's toughness makes it the ideal flight, motorcycle or general purpose garment, and its age & limited quantities makes it a true collector's item! Color: vintage brown. Made in the USA.
