The Cockpit® USA B10 Flight Jacket is an authentic reproduction of the USAAF WWII flight jacket although its styling is similar to a cloth USN G-1. The B-10 was the first cloth-shelled USAAF flight jacket, which was meant to replace the venerable A-2 in 1943-1944. AAF pilots grumbled at first at the loss of the beloved leather A-2, but the B-10 soon won them over: it was lighter, more comfortable & more versatile than the A-2 and pilots also loved the fur collar. This classy & stylish-looking flight jacket was also worn by “elite” non-aviation personnel, like US Army Generals and officers of Airborne units. Although extremely popular among the privileged, its service life was fairly short. Replaced by the B-15 in late 1944. Rugged and dependable flight jacket with a modern true-to-size fit. Made in the USA.

Cockpit® USA History:
In 1975, Jeff Clyman founded Avirex Ltd. Avirex established itself with original military designs for the A-2, G-1, and B-3 jackets. By 1978, the brand flourished with “The Cockpit” catalogue. The US Air Force began to purchase A-2 flight jackets, which led to them becoming an official government supplier. Followed by more government agencies; US Navy, US Army, NASA, and many international armed forces.
In the early 1980s, the company partnered with blockbusters to help promote their jackets, “The Right Stuff” and “Top Gun”. With the popularity, the lists of celebrities who’ve worn their jackets continued to grow on and off the screen.
Avirex Ltd., now Cockpit® USA, has remained a name that is known for its craftsmanship, quality, and authenticity. Recognized worldwide as one of the leaders in fashion and function for military bomber jackets.
