We recently restored an original WWII A-2 jacket belonging to Mr. Robert Palmer, whose father, Lt. Blake Palmer, wore the jacket during the war. Lt. Blake was in the 12th AF in Corsica and flew 67 missions in the Zero-4, a B-26 Marauder, as part of the 319th BG, 437th BS. His son commissioned US Wings to condition & preserve the jacket so it could be placed in a display case to honor his father, and US Wings was honored to do so.

The “before” photos show the condition the jacket was in when we received it, and the “after” photos show the results of our conditioning & preservation efforts. The original cuffs and lining were left in place to preserve the originality of the jacket and the artwork was carefully conditioned as to not damage any of the paint. The other photos are from WWII and show Lt. B.K. Palmer wearing the very same jacket, as well as photos of the Martin B-26 Marauder “Zero-4” with flyers & ground crew in Corsica in December 1944.
