Limited Edition A-2! Our Heaven Sent 50 Mission™ WWII A-2 Hand Painted Jacket is made from supple and grainy aged New Zealand sheepskin leather, which gives this jacket the rugged & battle-worn look of a A-2 from WWII. Although it may look like a hand-me-down from a WWII veteran, this jacket has the fit & functionality of a modern A-2, including side-entry hand warmer pockets and an interior pocket (which were not included on WWII-era A-2s). Artwork Features and History:
Our featured jacket is a tribute to the crew of the B-17G Flying Fortress “Heaven Sent” and was custom hand-painted by our resident artist Jim Harley on our 50 Mission™ Sheepskin A-2 Jacket. The plane and its crew was part of the 100th Bomb Group that was stationed out of Thorpe Abbotts airfield in England during WWII (the background photo is of the control tower at Thorpe Abbotts airfield, taken by Jim Harley in 2009). This jacket is modeled after one that’s enshrined in the 8th Air Force Museum near Savannah, Georgia.
