Our US Wings 50 Mission™ WWII Crush Caps are a more affordable, yet still very authentic, reproduction of the popular WWII pilot’s cap. “Crush caps” were actually standard Army officer’s dress caps with the stiffeners removed to better accommodate the wearing of pilot headsets. Removal of the stiffeners caused the sides of the cap to become “crushed” under the headsets, and ultimately gave the pilot who wore it the look of a seasoned veteran.
Our 50 Mission™ Crush Caps caps are available in green (most often associated with the European theater) or khaki (most often associated with the Pacific theater).
