US Wings is proud to offer the Black Goatskin A-2 Flight Jacket. It is made from ultra-supple black goatskin leather and is manufactured to military quality standards and specifications. Our jacket is equal in every way to the USAF-issue A-2, but with one important distinction. It is black versus seal brown. Additionally we have made changes to the A-2 jacket. We’ve added side-entry hand warmer pockets and one inside pocket. The side-entry pockets are separate from the patch pockets, consequently making them roomier and more accessible. As a result the additional pockets make it far more practical.

The A-2 leather flight jacket is an American military flight jacket icon. Furthermore it was invented and developed for the World War II U.S. Army Air Forces pilots. The modern A-2 was re-designed and re-issued after a brief period of not issuing leather jackets to pilots. Probably the popular film, “Top Gun” may have influenced bringing back the new A-2. Avirex was awarded the first Air Force A-2 contract. Most noteworthy subsequent contracts from 1988 to 1998 were awarded to Neil Cooper USA, now U.S. Wings of Ohio.
