Leather Jackets

Leather jackets have evolved over time, but some jackets are timeless.

In the 1900’s, A-2 and G-1 leather flight jackets were worn by aviators and military members. Leather jacket popularity is linked to Hollywood and some stars that influenced leather jacket styles were:

  • Gary Cooper – “For Whom the Bell Tolls”
  • Marlon Brando – “The Wild One”
  • Henry Winkler – “Happy Days”
  • Tom Cruise – “Top Gun”
  • Harrison Ford – “Indiana Jones”

Not just for fashion, leather jackets can also be used for protective gear. Motorcycle drivers and passengers wear thick, heavy leather jackets to prevent major injury in a fall or accident.

Not only do the styles evolve, but so does the type of leather. The most common leather used for jackets is cowhide, but we also offer Kangaroo, Bison, Goatskin, Lambskin, Sheepskin, and Horsehide. Each type of leather will offer you a different texture, color, flexibility, and overall look. Browse through our different styles and leather types and see which jacket was meant for you. Our jackets are made with specialized equipment and the best leather sewing machines to provide the best fit for everyone.
