What do Indy Jackets and Sgt. Hack have in common?

Many people ask what do Indy Jackets and Sgt. Hack have in common?  Neil Cooper, a former partner of Sgt. Hack originally conceived the first pattern for the INDIANA JONES movies by combining features of the Air Force A2 and the Navy G1.  Eliminating the cuffs and waist band from the A2 and then adding the Bi-Swing back, small side gaps & side adjustment straps with rectangular sliders, the Indy jacket was born. There have been multiple jacket manufacturers who have contributed to the four INDIANA JONES movies but it has been verified that the pedigree originated with Neil Cooper and He in fact supplied 8 jackets for the TEMPLE OF DOOM.
Sgt. Hack, the CEO of US Wings, has passionately and continuously developed the largest selection of Indy Style jackets in the world.

Cooper Originals

With the 40th Anniversary of the movie “Raiders of the Lost Ark” (June 12, 1981) just around the corner, US Wings is proud to offer our US Wings Cooper Original Indy-style Jackets! We feel that our Cooper Original Indy-style Jackets are the finest available and we’re offering them in a choice of Vintage CowhideStriated Lambskin, Goatskin, and Cape Buffalo versions.

Cooper Sportswear

Cooper Sportswear was founded in the early 1920s and was a manufacturer of high quality outerwear for the military & civilian market for decades. US Wings partnered with Cooper for many years, starting in 1986 and ending when Cooper Sportswear ceased production in the 1990s. Their jackets have been unavailable to the general public ever since, so we’ve decided to reintroduce these outstanding jackets in our Cooper Original Collection. Check out our Cooper Original Collection to see our full selection of Cooper-labeled jackets, including our Cooper Original A-2s and Cooper Original G-1.

The new Indiana Jones Movie

“Indiana Jones 5” has been confirmed for a possible July 2022 release with Harrison Ford returning to his iconic role of the fedora-wearing, whip-wielding archaeologist. This is great news for fans of the franchise and a great time to gear up with one of our authentic Indy-style jackets!

Cape Buffalo Indy-Style Adventurer Jacket

Our Cape Buffalo Indy-style Adventurer Jacket is one of the toughest & most durable jackets we manufacture (and also one of the our most popular). A true adventurer’s jacket, it’s tough enough to handle your next foray into the rugged outback (it’s also used by the stunt actors who perform in the “Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular” show at Walt Disney World in Florida), but the antique brown cape buffalo leather is also wonderfully soft & rich looking too, with all the quality & luxury you would expect from a high-end leather jacket, making it equally appealing to any cultivated, dyed-in-the-wool urbanite. A US Wings exclusive!

Signature Series Vintage Cowhide Indy-Style Adventurer Jacket

Another popular Indy-style jacket is our Signature Series Vintage Cowhide Indy-style Adventurer Jacket, which has been out of production for the last two years but is now back in stock! This outstanding jacket has the versatility, functionality and style that all true adventurers look for and is made from pre-distressed top-grain cowhide from the same tannery that supplied the leather to create the on-screen jackets for the fourth Indy Jones movie. This outstanding jacket is made in the USA and received the “Best Leather Jacket” Award from BestLeather.org in 2015.

Striated Lamb Indy-Style Adventurer Jacket

We first produced a “striated” lambskin jacket back in 1985 but this type of jacket has been absent from our current line for quite some time. Our Cooper Original Striated Antique Lambskin Indy-style Jacket starts with the finest Italian lambskins, which are hand-stretched to achieve its unique striated appearance. This results in a wonderfully “grainy” and rugged-looking jacket (and no two jackets will look exactly alike).
