We recently discovered a large stash of brand new, decades-old vintage Women’s Goatskin WASP A-2 Jackets in our warehouse! These jackets are an authentic reproduction of the WWII A-2 made for the WASPs (Women’s Airforce Service Pilots). They’re made from the finest goatskin leather. They include all the classic A-2 features plus the addition of side-entry handwarmer pockets. These were not available on the WWII WASP A-2s. Unlike unisex-sized A-2s, our Women’s Goatskin WASP A-2 is made specifically for women. First of all it’s roomier where it needs to be. Secondly it features shorter sleeves and body length. WASP’s
The Women Airforce Service Pilots (WASP) was a civilian women pilots’ organization, whose members were United States federal civil service employees. Members of WASP became trained pilots who tested aircraft, ferried aircraft, and trained other pilots. Their purpose was to free male pilots for combat roles during World War II. Despite various members of the armed forces being involved in the creation of the program, the WASP and its members had no military standing.
